Our school relies heavily on the support and involvement of our parent community and we are grateful for the dedication and commitment that many of you have shown to our school thus far. This workshop is part of our parent volunteer programme that aims to foster stronger relationships between the school and parents and ensuring the safety of all learners.Â
In this workshop, our Principal, Lachlan, will provide you with the necessary tools and information to be a safeguarding-informed volunteer at Nexus. We will be discussing various topics such as school policies and procedures, safety guidelines and effective communication with teachers and staff.
Through this programme, we aim to ensure that all parents who volunteer with the school will have been safeguarding-trained. Apart from this upcoming workshop, there will also be additional workshops offered in the next semester for any who may not be able to attend this one. We hope to reach this goal by the 2024-25 school year so that the learners' safety can be assured by trained parent volunteers. Â
Additionally, this will be a great opportunity to meet other parents who are also interested in volunteering and share ideas and experiences with one another. We hope that you will find this workshop informative, engaging and helpful as you make meaningful contributions to our school community.

We look forward to seeing you at the workshop!
My purpose is to inspire people, one conversation at a time, with a shared vision and common purpose. There is no defining action, no grand program, no killer innovation; it’s about building momentum with courageous people. I’m known for walking alongside people to create a culture where they feel safe, have a strong sense of belonging and flourish in their own unique ways. By listening deeply, I encourage them to recognise their true value and in turn, enrich others.
